The Lion and the Little Mouse

The Lion and the Little Mouse

The mouse trembled with fear and pleaded, “Please, mighty lion, forgive me! I didn’t mean to disturb you. If you let me go, I promise I’ll help you someday.”

The lion laughed loudly. “You? A tiny mouse? Help me? That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard!” But after a moment, his anger softened. “You’re too small to be worth my time,” he said, and let the mouse go.

Days passed, and one afternoon, the lion was caught in a hunter’s net. He roared and struggled, but the more he moved, the tighter the net became. Hearing the lion’s cries, the mouse rushed to the scene.

Without hesitation, the mouse began gnawing at the ropes with its sharp teeth. Bit by bit, the net gave way, and soon the lion was free.

The lion looked at the mouse with gratitude. “You saved my life,” he said humbly. “I was wrong to doubt you.”

The mouse smiled and replied, “Even the smallest creature can help the mightiest.”

From that day on, the lion and the mouse became the best of friends, proving that kindness and courage know no size.
